Description of Project

The project consists of improvements from the Dallas North Tollway (DNT) to SH-289, featuring approximately 10,600 ft of four lanes of an ultimate six lane divided thoroughfare. It includes a 250 ft long, four lane separated grade crossing at the Burlington Northern & Santa Fe Railroad (BNSF RR).

Challenges Encountered & Solutions Provided

Multiple developments occurred rapidly during the project’s construction phase. BHC proactively worked with Collin County, the Town of Prosper, and the City of Celina to assist in development review and close coordination with developer engineers. This allowed us to provide additional driveways, free right turns, and left turn lanes in a timely manner, successfully avoiding any disruption to the Frontier Parkway contractor’s construction schedule.

Additionally, the project required regular, complex coordination with multiple governmental agencies, including the US Army Corps of Engineers, North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA), TxDOT, Prosper Independent School District, and the Burlington Northern & Santa Fe Railroad.
